Hi! I’m Alexis

I’m Glad You Are Here

About Me

From my earliest memories, I’ve been drawn to people and captivated by their unique stories. This curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from George Fox University in 2016 and continue my education at Western Seminary, where I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023. As a Peruvian American and a biracial individual, I bring a unique perspective shaped by my diverse cultural heritage. Growing up navigating multiple identities, I faced the challenges of feeling caught between two worlds, often struggling to fully connect with either community. This experience has deepened my appreciation for the complexities of identity and the rich tapestry of experiences that shape who we are. It also helps me empathize with clients who may feel similarly and understand the nuanced challenges they may face.

My Approach

I use narrative therapy to explore the stories you tell about yourself, your relationships, and your experiences. Together, we can uncover patterns, reframe challenges, and create new ways of understanding your life. I also integrate trauma-informed and somatic perspectives, paying attention not only to thoughts and emotions but also to how your body holds experiences. By connecting mind and body, therapy can feel more grounded, supportive, and effective.

I help people navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and body-focused behaviors. Therapy is collaborative, and my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you explore your experiences and experiment with new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I approach therapy from a Christian worldview, which informs my values and understanding of the human experience. While Christianity is a part of my perspective, out of care and respect, I will not impose my values onto clients. I integrate evidence-based practices such as narrative and trauma-informed therapy while being mindful of how faith and spirituality may play a role in your life. Clients of all beliefs and backgrounds are welcome, and therapy is always guided by your values, goals, and comfort level.

Beyond the therapy room, I cherish time with family and friends, find joy in baking bread, exploring the outdoors with my husband and dog, crafting, and tap dancing!

I am supervised by Dr. Jeremiah Peck, PhD, LMHC (WA), LPC (OR), NCC, ACS.
